New Alresford Neighbourhood Plan
New Alresford Neighbourhood Plan
The Neighbourhood Plan is being prepared by the Neighbourhood Plan Advisory Committee (NPAC), which is made up of New Alresford Town Councillors and residents. NPAC is an Advisory Committee to the Council.
The aim of the Neighbourhood Plan is to protect New Alresford’s identity and sense of place as a vibrant, small market town. It will give New Alresford a legal weight to guide development in the town and covers topics such as landscape, heritage, design & local character, employment, tourism, housing and shaping the town centre. It will set out policies to ensure the community gets the right type of development and planning decisions, in part by designating housing sites whilst also protecting green spaces and heritage assets. Once formally ‘made’, the Plan will be a blueprint for positive change, with the needs of the local community at its core. The Neighbourhood Plan will replace the Design Statement, a planning document that has been used by the town since 2008.
