We are delighted to announce a celebration of one of our scheme projects, Tales of the Riverbank – Sharing Community Stories. Join us to honour the culmination of this project with a special evening event dedicated to showcasing the fascinating personal histories and community voices gathered throughout the project.
Date: Friday October 24th, 2025
Time: 7pm-9pm (doors open from 6.30pm, for a 7pm start)
Venue: Bishops Sutton Village Hall, Alresford, SO24 0AL
Parking: available on site
Many of you will be aware that, over the course of the last few years, a small, dedicated team of our volunteers have been out interviewing local people about their memories and experiences with chalk streams. At the end of the scheme, these recorded stories will be archived and made available to the public through the Wessex Film and Sound Archive, providing a legacy, for generations to come, to enjoy these stories and recollections. Meanwhile, a few of the community members who have been interviewed for the project have very kindly agreed to come together for an evening to share their own stories, anecdotes, and memories for us all to enjoy.
If you’d like to join us, please make your booking through the Eventbrite link below – we’ll be doing some light refreshments and so it will help us with the numbers and seating. (The event is free of charge)
