Perins Pre-school, based at Sun Hill Junior School in Alresford, has been rated ‘good’ in its latest inspection, with Ofsted praising its nurturing environment, ambitious curriculum, and strong relationships between staff and children.
The inspection, which took place on Friday, August 8, is the first since the pre-school rebranded and relocated to Sun Lane. Michelle Osman, manager of Perins Pre-school, said:
“We are thrilled with our first Ofsted inspection outcome. This rating reflects the incredible dedication of our staff, who work tirelessly to create a safe, supportive, and inspiring environment for every child. We’re proud of what we’ve achieved in such a short time and remain committed to continuous improvement.”
The Ofsted report praised the pre-school for its ambitious, play-based curriculum that fosters curiosity and a love of learning. Inspectors said:
“Staff have strong relationships with children and know them well. Children are happy, engaged, and proud of their achievements.”
Perins Pre-school was also commended for its emphasis on personal, social and emotional development, helping children to manage their feelings, form friendships and build resilience.
Staff were praised for teaching children about healthy eating, safety awareness, and working together.
The report also recognised the value of the pre-school’s partnerships with parents, who described the setting as caring, supportive and communicative.
