River Arle Dog Dip Area Receives Improvements

In 2021, the Wessex Rivers Trust carried out a series of enhancements along the River Arle, aimed at improving the river path and supporting local biodiversity. As part of this work, they created a designated “dog dip” area, a specially designed access point where dogs can enjoy the water without causing damage to the riverbank.

On a recent site visit, the Trust identified that the gravel in the dog dip area had been partially washed away, likely due to recent storms and elevated river levels. To address this, they have now replenished the area with slightly larger gravel, which should help reduce future erosion and maintain safe access for dogs.

The dog dip continues to play an important role in protecting the natural environment while offering a safe and enjoyable spot for local dog walkers.
