What is Chiropractic?
Chiropractic is a health profession concerned with the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of mechanical disorders of the musculoskeletal system, and the effects of these disorders on the functions of the nervous system and general health. There is an emphasis on manual treatments including spinal adjustment and other joint and soft tissue manipulation.
Since 1895 Chiropractic has evolved from the idea of poor nerve flow and problems of ‘innate’, into a discipline based on a greater understanding of the structure and function of the body as a whole. Coupled with up to date research, this enables Chiropractors to take a holistic view of each individual patient. Chiropractic is a treatment that does not rely on the use of drugs or surgery. In addition to specific Chiropractic mobilisation, a variety of individually tailored techniques are used to ensure rapid and effective results. Chiropractors are able to treat most conditions that involve joints or soft tissue.
