New Alresford Town Council has received a further update from National Highways regarding the planned weekend closures around M3 Junction 9.
The closures are scheduled to take place from:
9pm Friday 21 August until 6am Monday 24 August 2026
Roads closed for the full weekend
National Highways has advised that the following roads will be closed:
A34 southbound from Bullington Cross
A34 northbound to Three Maids Hill, including the A33 northbound
A33 southbound from the Cart and Horses junction
Easton Lane northbound and southbound at Easton Lane Roundabout
A272 northbound and southbound from the Spitfire Roundabout (A31)
M3 Junction 9 northbound and southbound entry and exit slip roads
Signed diversion routes will be in place throughout the weekend.
Long-term closure reminder
National Highways has also reminded motorists that the M3 Junction 9 northbound entry slip road remains closed until winter 2027.
This means there is currently no access to the M3 northbound from the Junction 9 roundabout.
Drivers are advised to plan journeys in advance and allow additional travelling time if travelling through the area during the weekend closures.
